Definition
(ANSI std. 1100-1992) A RMS reduction in the AC Voltage,
at the power frequency, for duration from a half a cycle
to a few seconds.
- Voltage can
drop below normal level for several cycles and can affect
the critical load to cause shutdown.
- With electronically
controlled equipment, voltage under 20% below normal will
result in shutdown.
