The CyberWave UPS combines Cyberex's hallmark rugged electrical design with the versatility of digital signal processors, field-programmable gate arrays and EPROM's to set new standard in the performance and reliability of UPS systems for industrial applications.

The double-conversion, on-line CyberWave UPS eliminates spikes, sags, surges, transients, and all other over/under voltage conditions and over/under frequency conditions, providing clean power to your vital load. No matter how poor the incoming power, the CyberWave UPS provides perfect power to your mission-critical systems.

+/-5% upon application/removal of 100% load step; recovery in 1 cycle.

Universal load compatibility:

Without the nee to derate the UPS, the IGBT PWM inverter provides less than 5% Voltage THD to non-linear loads (3:1 crest factor, 100% loaded systems). Whether the load is a Distributed Control System, an industrial computer, a motor drive, a lighting ballast, a motor, or combination of loads, the CyberWave provides clean, uninterrupted voltage wave forms to the critical load.

Overload Capacity:

The CyberWave UPS provides an overload capacity of 150% of rated output power on the inverter for a full 15 minutes before transferring to the alternate line.

Temperature-compensated charging:

UPS battery life is enhanced by ensuring the charge currents are compensated for ambient temperature conditions.

FiberOptic Datapaths:

Control signals flow through FiberOptic cables, which provide immunity to internal/external EMI and RFI. Because wiring and connections are minimized, FiberOptic connectivity also assures high reliability and ease of maintenance

Interactive Front-Panel Control and Monitoring

The fully-digital architecture of the CyberWave UPS system potentially allows the user to monitor hundreds of key system parameters and to digitally control dozens of system set-points through the PowerPad, an 8"x11" full-color, touch screen front panel. Three pre-configured information and control platforms are available: Basic (PowerPad 1), Advanced (PowerPad2) and Comprehensive (PowerPad 3). Some PowerPad features include:

Active Real-time System Monitor:

A full-color mimic of all UPS modules is displayed in real-time on the PowerPad. Power flow, operational status, breaker/switch positions and fuse status are indicated.

Event Log:

The PowerPad includes a time-stamped, color-coded alarm/event log stored in non-volatile memory. It can be downloaded to a PC in real-time or in batches.

Security Access:

In order to ensure security operation, the PowerPad has a three-level, password-protected security access system.

Communication:

The CyberWave UPS comes standard with two RS-232 serial communication ports, allowing connectivity for monitoring, network shutdown, maintenance and service. Compatibility with industrial communication protocols like Modbus is available.

Designed and Engineered Like No Other

Pre-Configured Packages

CyberWave UPS is available in nine different pre-configured packages with various combinations of switchgear, alarms and metering to suit different industrial requirements. Customers get the benefit of quick deliveries, low cost and high reliability in these packages, (Refer to datasheet for more information.)

Options

Battery Cabinet: Matching battery cabinets are available for VRLA-type (sealed) batteries, which provide up to 30 minutes backup time. Battery cabinets are the free-standing type and can be bolted to the UPS module or placed.

Bypass Line Isolation Transformer

Input Line Filter: Reduces reflected input current harmonics too less than 10%. Available as an option with the standard 6-pulse charger.

Twelve-Pulse Rectifier: The input rectifier/charger in the CyberWave UPS can be upgraded to a 12=pulse configuration, which reduces the input current harmonics to less than 7%.

Unique Components Contribute to a Unique Product

Universal Load Compatibility

At the heart of the CyberWave UPS is its DSP-controlled IGBT PWM inverter, providing superior voltage regulation and transient response to the most stringent and critical industrial loads. Irrespective of load non-linearity, this state-of-the-art inverter maintains minimal Voltage THD (<5%) without the use of external harmonic traps, exclusively through real-time feedback control of the output voltage waveform.

The battery charger design ensures that the ripple voltage on the DC bus is minimal, thereby maintaining battery integrity. As an option, the CybeWave UPS incorporates a 12-pulse charger to reduce the reflected current harmonic to the UPS input.

Every CyberWave UPS incorporates Cyberex's patented design of its Digital Static Transfer Switch-a fully rated, bi-directional static transfer switch with no cross current.

Complete Product/Complete Protection

To supplement its top-of-the-line double conversion topology, the CyberWave UPS's basic hardware configuration includes:

  • Input Breaker
  • Battery fuse and disconnect switch
  • Input Isolation Transformer
  • Output Isolation Transformer
  • Inverter short-circuit protection
  • Temperature-compensated charging for the battery
  • Separate Rectifier current limits for battery and inverter

Redundant UPS Systems

The CyberWave UPS can be optionally configured into a Cascaded Redundant System configuration for highly critical applications.

Inverter/Static Switch Systems

When an external DC source, 120VDC or 240VDC, is already available and a rectifier/charger is not necessary, the CyberWave UPS is available in an Inverter/Static Switch configuration. Service

The CyberWave UPS incorporates full digital electronics and has an on-board industrial PC. Servicing and fault finding is carried out through a service RS-232 connection on the service panel located inside the UPS. This allows a field engineer/technician to locate the problem and replace/repair the module, reducing critical downtime.
